Welcome, Students!

Greetings Students of World Literature!

Let's begin our class blog, where we discuss literature -- some of the titles and authors and literary elements  that we are focusing on in class.

Last week, we all read and enjoyed The Woman Who Had No Prejudices. Of course my favorite part of the story was that it had such a happy ending -- especially after reading the outrageously creepy Cask of Amontillado.

Speaking of The Cask, here's a drawing I came across that is one artist's rendering of the setting in the end of that short story. Scary, huh? Give me Maxim doing flips for his new bride any day over a character being bricked into the wall by a psychopath.

But maybe happy endings aren't for everyone. So tell me, dear student: what has been your favorite short story so far? And why? Don't just give me a title. Tell me, and tell your classmates as well, what you loved about the story that has been your fave...and maybe you can convince the rest of us that your favorite is the best one of all.
